Episode 99: Hallowe'en Is for Kids. Right?

Writer's picture: Kristin LindstromKristin Lindstrom

Think again.

Call my husband, Perry, a kid at heart but he loves decorating for Hallowe'en. There are few, but some, who surpass his work in the area. We routinely get 70 kids on the big day.

Every year the decorations must be augmented. This usually involves a long trip to Party City, but this year they let him down. So we turned to the Internet, which didn't disappoint.

This skeleton emits a nerve-wracking squeal and a hideous amount of groveling. Thanks, Amazon.

Sometimes humor is called for.

This old boy has been around for years now. He has lost his animatronic features, but is happy to greet the kids.

When I was a kid, it was considered cheesy if you had a store made costume. The best costumes were made at home. Poor Mom, she had four kids. I wore a sari outfit as man years as it would fit me. A bully in my class never got his cred back when he came to the school party as Caspar the Friendly Ghost.
